The Entrepreneur Immigration stream of the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is a path to immigrate to Canada and settle in B.C. for experienced entrepreneurs who can support innovation and economic growth in the province.

There are two pathways:

  • Base Category Program

  • Regional Pilot Program

BC PNP Entrepreneur Stream application is a two-stage process.

Stage 1: submit application ---->Temporary Work Permit

Stage 2: Implement business plan----> Permenant Residence

Application Process

Base Category

01/ Language requirement:
    Work Permit: No requirement
    Permanent Residency: at least CLB 4 ( IELTS: Listening 4.5/Speaking 4/Writing 4/Reading 3.5). 

02/ Education
    obtained a post-secondary credential, OR, experience as an active business owner-manager for at least three of the last five years with 100% ownership in the business.

03/ Personal Net Worth
    at least CAD $600,000.

04/ Experience
    within the last 10 years:
   
3+ years of experience as an active business  owner-manager

    OR
   
4+ years of experience as a senior manager
    OR
    a combination of
1+ years of experience as an active business owner-manager and 2+ years of experience as a senior manager.


05/ Investment
    Minimum CAD$200,000

06/ Ownership Percentage
    at least one-third(33.33%)

07/ Job Creation
    The business must create at least one full-time job for a permanent resident or citizen of Canada. The one full-time job cannot include you, your spouse or common-law partner, your dependent children, and/or other family members. 

08/ Location
    Anywhere in British Columbia.

09/ Business Proposal
    Establish a new business or purchase an existing business in British Columbia.

10/ Exploratory visit
    No requirement.


11/ Minimum time to operate the company
    18 months after issuance of a work permit.

Regional Pilot

01/ Language requirement:
    Work Permit: at least CLB 4 ( IELTS: Listening 4.5/Speaking 4/Writing 4/Reading 3.5). 
 


02/ Education
    obtained a post-secondary credential, OR, experience as an active business owner-manager for at least three of the last five years with 100% ownership in the business.

03/ Personal Net Worth
    at least CAD $300,000.

04/ Experience
    within the last 10 years:
   
3+ years of experience as an active business  owner-manager

    OR
   
4+ years of experience as a senior manager
    OR
    a combination of
1+ years of experience as an active business owner-manager and 2+ years of experience as a senior manager.


05/ Investment
    Minimum CAD$100,00

06/ Ownership Percentage
    at least one-third(50%)

07/ Job Creation
    The business must create at least one full-time job for a permanent resident or citizen of Canada. The one full-time job cannot include you, your spouse or common-law partner, your dependent children, and/or other family members. 

08/ Location
    Participating communities.

09/ Business Proposal
    Establish a new business in British Columbia and be referred by an enrolled community.

10/ Exploratory visit
    You must engage and visit an enrolled community for support before registering.

11/ Minimum time to operate the company
    12 months after issuance of a work permit.
